I don’t but I know scientists who do. I went to medical school so I’m not really grossed out by anything any more.

I do have a phobia of needles. If I need to have a vaccine or give blood, I have to put some listen to music to calm myself.

I don’t know if it’s technically a phobia, but thanks to an incident in my childhood I feel sick and disgusted by even the thought of injections or blood sampling. It’s kind of annoying and inconvenient.

No – I’m a blood donor, so I regularly get needles in my arm and it has never bothered me. I’ve also dealt with some really horrible wounds on animals without any problem. But looking at wounds on people or hearing them talk about problems with their feet always makes me feel slightly sick!

No. Unfortunately I’ve had quite a few long stays in hospital in the past few years, so I have become rather used to being treated like a pin cushion. Still, if I am having blood taken then I don’t like to watch too closely as I don’t want to jinx it – sometimes the doctor/nurse gets flustered and has to stab me again!

Luckily not. I was in the transplant division during my PhD though, so I probably would have chose somewhere else if I was.
