      It’s difficult to answer this without knowing what you mean by “types”.
      Gas is one of the four main states of matter. Sometimes, however, it is useful to model some substances as being “gas-like”, giving rise to Fermi and Bose gasses, which are composed of particles, like electrons. And when trying to model gasses, they can be treated “ideal gasses” or “real gasses”.
      You might also be asking for the number of substances which exist in the gas state at standard temperature and pressure (natural conditions on Earth), a full list can be found here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gases

      Everything that exists can become a gas. The same way that water boils when you heat it above 100 degrees Celsius and it goes from liquid to gas. If you heat to very high temperatures and add a lot of pressure even your desk can become a gas!
